Learn to Hockey Skate
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Learn to Hockey Skate is a beginning, instructional program to teach girls and boys ages 4 and up to hockey skate.  It is ADM compliant with Instruction provided by Hartford Jr Wolfpack Coaching staff and players. Focus is on basic Skating skills 
 
 
With this program skaters are required to wear: Hockey skates, hockey helmet with face shield or cage,elbow pads, neck guard, and hockey gloves.  Knee pads or shin pads are highly recommended but are not required.  

10 session registration ($175 for this program)
Parents may register their child for 10 sessions running from October 2014-December 2014.  Equipment is NOT INCLUDED in this price and must be purchased separately by each family.

Fall session will be held on Saturday's at 12:00noon at Champions Skating Center on the Upper Rink  


Everyone also must register with USA Hockey online at USAHOCKEY.COM prior to completing the Whalers registration; there is no additional charge for players up to age 6.  Registering with USAH is good for one full season so you do not need to register with USAH for each program you register for.
 
We are only registering online at www.whalersyouthhockey.com this season.  Please check the schedule on the website for weather related cancelations or time changes at least weekly.

Parents with hockey skating skills are welcome to help on the ice with the Learn to Hockey Skate program but need to be USA Hockey registered online.  Coaching Certification Level 1 with USA Hockey and U8 Module completion is mandatory by 12/31/13.

COACHING CERTIFICATION WITH USA HOCKEY IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.  

NO SHOES ARE ALLOWED ON THE ICE! ALL COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS MUST WEAR A HOCKEY HELMET WHEN ON THE ICE.
